Throughout weeks six, seven, and eight, participants will use imagination and creativity in a deeper dive into their potential future, creating the next step toward concrete goals. This is the next part of the journey: taking off on your imagination and desires, knowing your values, and leading with your strengths.
Over these three sessions, use the "future you" exercise below (or activities you come up with as a pair) to envision multiple potential outcomes (typically 2-5). Review them together: what is the most emotionally rewarding of all the variations?

Coachees: Create the Future You
- With your coach, review the future resume that you created in Part One. What jumps out the most? What was omitted because it feels impossible? How would it change if the impossible were possible?
- Think about your greatest success in your new career five years from now. How did you achieve it? What did you do? What is your role? What does a day in your life look like? Play with it creatively it in whatever creative way you choose:
- Write an article or blog post and illustrate it with pictures from Unsplash
- Create a mind map or other visualization
- Use LEGO® Serious Play, a puppet show, felt board, or other physical medium
- Draw, illustrate, or collage a concept poster or movie poster
- Imagine and explain all the details in whatever way you choose!
- Step through this creative exercise a few times over the three weeks, each time exploring a different version of your potential future successes. For each iteration, talk through the following discussion questions with your coach:
- Do I have the resources I need to accomplish this? (This can be education, skills, financial ability, family support, etc.)
- Can I see myself committed to doing this? Will it bore me? Will it consume me completely and burn me out?
- Am I interested enough to take the risk? Can I get past the honeymoon stage and stick with it when it gets hard? How will I stay on track?
- Does this make sense as a future, with all that I know about me and my life? Why or why not? What would have to change or be different?
