Uniting the LGBTQ+ tech community, Out in Tech creates opportunities for our 40,000 members to advance their careers, grow their networks, and leverage tech for social change.
A major contributor to Out in Tech’s fun, engaging, and safe spaces are the 200+ passionate volunteers who want to give back to our community.
Below are some of the volunteering opportunities people can participate in. If you are interested in any of them, please get in touch with the focal point listed under each.

Community Partnerships
In addition to our regular OIT U events, we offer tailored events to the needs of our community partners. These events tend to be more casual and fun and serve as a way to introduce careers in the tech industry to partner members who may never have considered it.

Out in Tech has over 20,000 members in Slack to find job opportunities, learn about upcoming community events, and connect with others that share similar interests! Whether you want to chat with other #engineer-developers, meet fellow #qtbipoc folks in the tech industry, or discuss all things #music and #food, we will have it or if it’s not, we will make one through #channel_suggestions.
We have a lot of channels based on Geographic Locations, Jobs, Interests, Identities, and Just for fun! View the list of Slack Channels
Help out moderating one or a few of any of our 200+ channels (committees) by creating events, inventing new programs, and ensuring our channels are a safe space. For more information, send a DM to Jake Tenenbaum in Out in Tech Slack.
